Shisha tape is one of those small tools you only miss when you don't have it. Shisha tape solves this without you having to look for a whole new rubber or sealing ring. You wrap the tape one or more times around the loose spot and the seal is immediate. It works for:

• Loose hookah hoses at the hose connection
• Traditional hookahs with non-standard sizes, such as Khalil Mamoon or similar Egyptian models

You decide how many layers to apply. A thin wrapping is enough for a small gap. For larger openings, simply add more layers until the connection is secure.

Textile versus rubber sealing rings

Rubber hookah rubbers are handy, but they don't always fit well. Especially with older or handmade hookahs, the sizes are not always standard. A rubber ring that is too small does not seal properly. One that is too large simply does not fit.

Textile sealing tape gives you more freedom. You can apply exactly as many wraps as necessary to bridge the size difference. The tape adapts to the connection instead of vice versa. And if the seal becomes slightly less effective after a while due to moisture or use, you simply remove it and wrap on fresh tape. That takes a few seconds.

How to apply the tape

Using shisha tape is easy and quick, even for those who are new to it.

1. Make sure the connection is dry and clean. Moist or greasy spots will not hold the tape as well.
2. Tear or cut the tape to length. You can easily tear it off by hand.
3. Wrap it tightly around the connection, vase neck, or hose coupling. Start at the lowest point and work your way up.
4. Apply multiple layers if the connection is larger. Keep wrapping until the part is firmly in place.
5. Assemble your hookah and check if the draw feels good. If air is still escaping, add another layer of tape.

The tape leaves no sticky residue on your hookah or vase. When you're done, simply pull it off.

Maintenance and replacement

Shisha tape is not intended as a permanent seal. After intensive use or after washing your shisha, it is best to renew the tape. The textile can absorb moisture or become slightly looser over time. As soon as you notice that the smoke is less dense or the connection is loose, replace the tape. That is the only maintenance required.

Store the roll in a dry place, not in direct sunlight. This keeps the textile flexible and easy to work with.

An airtight hookah truly brings out the best in your session only if the rest is also properly set up. Good quality coals are important in this regard. Hookah natural coals burn evenly and long, ensuring stable heat on your shisha tobacco bowl. This gives you a full, even smoke from start to finish.
