Then pull a piece of aluminum foil tightly over the head and poke regular holes in it. If you use a Kaloud or metal chimney, place it on top instead of foil. That regulates the heat more stably.

Place 2 or 3 hookah coals on the foil or in your HMD. Allow the head 3 to 5 minutes to come up to temperature. Only then begin to draw. A well-heated head gives thick, full smoke from the start. Rotate the coals a quarter turn halfway through to keep the heat even.

Maintenance and Cleaning

After use, allow the head to cool completely. Ceramic will crack if you cool it too quickly with cold water while it is still hot. Then rinse with warm water and a soft brush. Do not use abrasive cleaners - they will damage the glossy surface. Stubborn residue can be removed by soaking the head in warm water with a little dish soap.

Preferably use natural coconut coals. They burn longer, provide even heat, and produce little aftertaste. Quick-lighting coals are convenient, but burn hotter and shorter.
