Who is this Head for?

The Oblako Phunnel L is for anyone who wants to smoke for more than an hour while maintaining full flavour. Its large capacity of 20 to 22 grams makes it less suitable for a short session of half an hour; a smaller size would be better then. But for an evening session with friends or a relaxing solo session of one and a half hours, this is just right.

Use and Setup

Do not overfill the head. Place the shisha tobacco loosely so that air can flow past the leaves. Do not pack the tobacco. Make sure the tobacco does not rise above the rim of the crater-shaped hole, otherwise, it will block the airflow.

Then cover the head with aluminum foil or use a heat management system. If using foil: poke small holes in a circle around the central hole. Then place two or three well-lit hookah natural coals on the foil and let the head heat up for two to three minutes before you start drawing.

Maintenance and Cleaning

After each session, remove the remaining tobacco from the head and rinse it with warm water. Do not use strong cleaning agents; they will damage the enamel coating. A soft brush works well for the inside. Let the head dry completely before storing it. Any moisture left behind will affect the flavour of the next session. Store it in a dry place and not stacked with other hard objects.

Choosing the Right Coals

For a head of this size and a session of one and a half hours, it is better to choose shisha natural coals rather than quick-light coals. Natural coals burn longer and provide a more stable heat without affecting the taste.

Coconut-based coals are a popular choice: they burn long and produce little odour. Good options can be found at Black Coco shisha coals or Tom Coco hookah coals. Always use a good shisha coal burner to fully glow the coals before placing them on the head.
