Lighting coals: how to use the Amy Deluxe Tornado

Always use natural coals for hookahs, also called natural charcoals. These burn more evenly and give less aftertaste than quick-lighting coals. Place 2 to 4 coals on the filament and connect the device to the power outlet. Turn the coals halfway through for an even glow on all sides. When the coals turn gray on the outside, they are ready.

Then use a hookah tong to place the coals on your bowl. Start with 2 coals if you want a relaxed session. If you need more heat, add a third coal. If you are working with a kaloud or chimney, follow the instructions for that accessory.

Always unplug the device after use. Let it cool down before storing it.

Maintenance and cleaning

A coal burner requires little maintenance. The filament may accumulate some ash residue over time. Gently wipe it off with a dry cloth when the device has completely cooled down. Never do this when the device is still warm or plugged in.
