The Oblako Bowl Phunnel Large is a ceramic hookah tobacco head handmade in Russia. The material is white ceramic, finished with an enamel coating in a soft baby blue color. Each head is therefore slightly different, as handmade items have small variations that make each head unique.

When using aluminum foil, pull it taut over the rim and make small holes in a regular pattern above the phunnel hole.

Do not place coals directly on the foil when you are just starting. Let them heat up thoroughly first, then place them at the edge of the head. Give the tobacco two to three minutes to warm up before taking a puff. This prevents a burnt taste at the beginning.

If you use a KALOUD or metal chimney, adjust the opening to the amount of heat you want. Start with a more open setting and close it slowly as the session progresses smoothly.

The Right Coals for the Oblako Phunnel L

For a head of this size, natural hookah coals work best. Coconut charcoal burns long, evenly, and gives off little aftertaste. Good options are coals from Black Coco or Tom Coco. These burn for one to one and a half hours, which perfectly matches the session duration this head offers.

Use a good coal burner to fully ignite the coals before placing them on the head. Half-ignited coals produce carbon monoxide and a bitter taste.

For the Phunnel L, you typically need two or three cubes, depending on how you smoke. Replace them one by one to keep the temperature stable.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Ceramic is easy to keep clean. Let the head cool down after use. Then rinse it with warm water. If there are caked-on tobacco residues, soak the head for fifteen minutes in warm water. A soft brush or toothbrush helps to loosen residues around the phunnel hole.

Do not use aggressive cleaning agents on the enamel exterior. This will affect the color. Water and possibly a small amount of dish soap are sufficient. Dry the head thoroughly before storing it.

The enamel coating makes the head less porous than uncoated ceramic. Flavors are absorbed less quickly, which makes cleaning easier and keeps the head fresh longer.
