The adjustable diffuser is located at the bottom of the shaft in the water. Turn it tighter for less noise, looser for a slightly different airflow resistance. Experiment to find what you prefer.

Maintenance and cleaning

Stainless steel makes cleaning easy. Rinse the shaft directly with warm water after each session. A shisha cleaning brush helps to thoroughly clean the inside wall.
