Light your coals with a hookah coal burner and place three to four glowing 26 mm coconut coals in the base of the Lotus. Close the lid and wait two to three minutes until the system reaches temperature. Then you can start smoking.

During the session, adjust the heat by rotating the lid. Do you notice your shisha getting too hot or acquiring a slightly burnt taste? Close the ventilation slightly. Do you want more vapor and draw? Open the lid further. With a few practice sessions, you'll quickly find the setting that works best for you.

Always use natural hookah coals made of coconut in the Lotus. Coconut coals burn evenly, last long, and don't give a chemical aftertaste to your shisha tobacco. Quick-lighting coals also work, but they burn hotter and shorter, which doesn't benefit the flavor as much.
