The Kalifa Phunnel Apatit is a hookah tobacco bowl in striking blue tones. Each bowl is handmade in Germany, which is reflected in its quality. The special material is a stoneware clay formula that retains heat longer than regular clay. This results in more even tobacco smoking and less burning.

This is a phunnel bowl: the opening in the middle stands up like a spout instead of having holes in the bottom. This keeps tobacco juices in the bowl and prevents them from dripping into the hookah. This preserves the flavor and keeps the shisha clean.

Usage and setup

Loosely fill the tobacco chamber with shisha tobacco up to just below the rim. Tightly wrap the foil and poke small holes in it, or use a heat management device. Then place the coals on top and allow the bowl two minutes to warm up before the first puff.

A session typically lasts 60 to 90 minutes. If you use hookah natural coals, you'll maintain more stable heat than with quick-lighting coals.

Combine with a heat management device

With an HMD on the Kalifa Phunnel Apatit, you can regulate the heat more precisely, the tobacco burns less quickly, and the flavor is more stable. Maintenance and cleaning

Rinse the bowl with warm water after each session. Use a soft brush for the tobacco chamber. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, as they can damage the glaze. Let the bowl dry upside down on a tea towel for the next session.

The right shisha coals

Preferably use natural coals based on coconut. These burn more evenly and longer than quick-lighting coals and do not impart any aftertaste. Good choices are the Black Coco coals, the Tom Coco coals and the Cocowawa coals. Always fully ignite coals on a coal burner.
