Construction and use

The Skull Dome consists of two parts: the bottom basket and the lid. Here's how to use it:

1. Fill your hookah bowl and place the bottom basket on top.
2. Place three glowing shisha coals in the basket. Preferably use coconut-based natural coals for the least aftertaste.
3. Press the lid onto the basket until you feel the click. The handle on top ensures you can easily pick it up without burning yourself.
4. Wait two to three minutes for the Skull Dome to reach temperature. Then the shisha smokes fully and smoothly.
5. Want to adjust the heat? Lift the lid slightly for less heat, leave it closed for more draw.

Always use hookah tongs to place and turn the coals.

Cleaning and maintenance

After the session, let the Skull Dome cool down completely before touching it. Dispose of the ash residue and rinse the two parts with warm water. If there's baked-on ash, use a soft brush or an old toothbrush. No aggressive cleaning agents needed, warm water is enough.

Dry the parts thoroughly before storing them. Aluminum does not rust, but moisture left for too long can cause slight stains. A dry tea towel works fine. Check the clip system occasionally. Does the lid close less firmly than usual? See if the clip edge isn't bent by a knock and gently push it back.

Which coals fit best

The Skull Dome works best with cubic or round hookah coals on a coconut base, such as Tom Coco, Black Coco, or Cocowawa. They burn stably and produce little ash. Avoid quick-light coals: they get very hot and quickly make the HMD dirty inside.
