The plate will turn on immediately and heat up. After two to four minutes, the bottoms of the coals will be glowing hot. Flip them over with hookah tongs and wait another minute or two. When they are glowing orange all around and have no black spots left, they are ready.

Note: Never place the charcoal burner on a wooden table or plastic surface without a protective layer. The bottom gets hot. A tile or heat-resistant mat underneath is advisable. After use: let it cool down before putting it away. The heating element is fragile, so be careful with it.

Maintenance and cleaning

The Dum Hot Plate is easy to keep clean. After it has fully cooled down, you can brush ash and coal dust off the heating element with a dry brush or a piece of kitchen paper. Never use water on the heating element. The outside of the device can be wiped with a slightly damp cloth.

Store the charcoal burner in a dry place, preferably not where it can fall over. Do not kink the cable or place anything heavy on it. This way, you will enjoy it for years to come.
