What is the Dschinni Vulcan Air chimney?

A shisha chimney or hotscreen is the clever alternative to aluminum foil on your hookah bowl. You place the coals on top of the screen, the heat is distributed, and excess heat rises through the central tube. This way, your tobacco never burns out, and the hookah smokes consistently from beginning to end. The Dschinni Vulcan Air takes this principle and improves it with its own airflow system: ventilation slots along the edge ensure that the coals continuously receive enough oxygen to glow evenly. The result: more flavor, less hassle, no burning smell.

What makes the Vulcan Air different?

The Vulcan Air has Air Flow Technology built-in. That sounds technical, but it's simple: the openings in the screen are positioned so that air can flow well past the coals. This keeps them hot longer, and you need to add fewer coals. At the same time, the screen protects the hookah bowl from direct heat. Place the coals centrally for more heat, or slide them towards the edge for less. You have more control over the session without constantly having to move the coals.

The whole thing weighs only 117 grams and is 11 centimeters high. Compact, but sturdy enough to maintain the heat of coconut coals. The material is 304 food-grade stainless steel: it doesn't rust, doesn't absorb odors, and is easy to clean. This is the type of steel also used in kitchen utensils.

Does it work on your hookah bowl?

The Vulcan Air is universal. It fits clay bowls, glass bowls, and stone bowls. Almost all popular hookah bowls have a standard size, and the Vulcan Air simply connects to them. Whether you have a regular clay bowl or a more expensive model: this chimney fits. If you have doubts, check the diameter of your bowl – most are 60 to 70 mm wide, and the Vulcan Air fits within that.

How to use the Vulcan Air?

Assembly is simple. Fill your shisha bowl loosely (not packed), so air can flow well through it. Place the Vulcan Air on top of the bowl. Then place two or three coconut coals on the screen. Wait until the coals are fully lit, normally two to three minutes. Then gently take a few puffs to bring the bowl up to temperature. If you notice it's too hot, move the coals slightly towards the edge. Too cool? Slide them towards the center.

Which coals fit best?

Always use natural coals on a chimney. Quick-lighting coals (instant coals) give off much more heat and burn your tobacco faster. Coconut coals are the most popular: they burn evenly, give little aftertaste, and last a long time. The Vulcan Air easily accommodates two or three coals of 25 or 26 mm. Maintenance and cleaning

Stainless steel is easy to clean. After each session, let the Vulcan Air cool down (give it a few minutes), tap off the ash residue, and rinse it briefly with warm water. Occasionally, a soft sponge with dish soap is enough to remove any residue. Do not use steel wool or abrasive cleaners, as this will scratch the surface. Then dry it thoroughly before storing it.
