Use hookah tongs to place the coals on your tobacco bowl. Place them on the rim of the bowl, so that the heat is evenly distributed. After ten minutes, you can shift them slightly towards the center if you notice the heat decreasing.

Good aluminum foil helps to distribute the heat well. Use aluminum foil and pokers that are strong enough for natural coals. Pierce small holes so that the air flows through well.

Cleaning up after the session

After smoking, some ash remains in the coal catcher or on the bowl. Always let the coals cool down completely before throwing them away. Coconut ash is fine and light, so make sure you don't inhale it when cleaning up.
