Setup and use

Place the glass vase on a stable surface. Fill the vase with cold water just above the tip of the smoke column, about 2 to 3 cm. Click the column onto the vase using the click system. Connect the Ground Joint adapter. Attach the hose connections and connect the hookah hoses. Place the stone hookah tobacco bowl on the column and attach the Hot Screen.

Loosely fill the hookah tobacco bowl with shisha tobacco and place a few glowing coals on the Hot Screen. Give the hookah a minute to come to temperature. Then gently pull on one of the hoses. If the airflow isn't right, add a little water or adjust the amount of tobacco.

Cleaning

After each session, rinse the glass vase with warm water. Then let the vase dry upside down. The aluminium smoke column can be wiped with a damp cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, as they can damage the acrylic outer layer.

You can rinse the silicone hose with warm water. Then pull air through the hose to dry it. If you want a thorough cleaning, use a hookah cleaning kit. Clean the tobacco bowl separately: rinse it and let it dry thoroughly before storing it.

The right coals

Always use natural coals for the best taste and even heat. Quick-lighters burn out quickly and give an aftertaste that spoils the shisha flavour. Good shisha natural coals provide longer sessions and less aftertaste. You will need two to three pieces per session, depending on the size of your tobacco bowl.

Heat the coals glowing hot with a shisha coal burner before placing them on the Hot Screen. Do not place them half-cooked on the tobacco bowl, as this will lead to burnt flavours. Turn the coals a quarter turn halfway through the session for even burning.

Complete the setup

The Dervish comes with one silicone hose. If you want to use all four connections, buy three extra loose silicone hoses. Also add hygienic shisha mouthpieces if you are smoking with multiple people. These are cheap and maintain hygiene.
