How to use DUM coals for your hookah?

Place two or three blocks on an electric coal burner or a gas burner. Let them glow completely until all sides are orange. This usually takes 8 to 12 minutes.

Then place the glowing blocks on the rim of your shisha tobacco bowl, or in a heat management device. Are you using aluminum foil? Flip the coals halfway through the session so that both sides glow evenly. A set of hookah tongs is indispensable for this.

Maintenance and storage of your coals

Always place a coal catcher under your shisha to collect ash. This keeps your table clean and prevents burn marks on your furniture. Regularly tap the ash from the coals into an ashtray to maintain good airflow through the coals. This also blows fewer smoke particles towards your shisha tobacco bowl. After your session, wait until the coals have completely cooled before discarding them. Coconut coals are biodegradable and can be disposed of with compost after cooling.

Store the remaining coals dry and sealed. Damp coals are harder to ignite and can give an unpleasant off-taste. The double packaging from DUM makes good storage easy: seal it well after use.
