Lighting and use

Place the coals on the electric coal burner or use a gas burner and wait until the coals glow orange on all sides. This usually takes 8 to 12 minutes. Only then do you place them on your hookah bowl. Start with 2 coals on a standard bowl. If you find the heat too low, add a third coal. If you have a kaloud or metal chimney, you can regulate the heat even better.

Do you want to monitor the temperature accurately? Use aluminum foil with pokers or a heat screen. This protects the tobacco and gives you more control over the draw and taste. Move the coals regularly so that the tobacco is heated evenly.
