Materials and construction

Aluminum and stainless steel: that's the basic recipe for the Aladin 2 Go. Aluminum is light, so the total travel set weighs little. The vase is hand-blown, which means that each piece is slightly different and that the glass is sturdier than machine-made alternatives.

The muffler

Setup and use

Fill the vase with cold water, insert the stem, attach the hose, and place the hookah tobacco bowl on top. Put some shisha tobacco in the bowl, cover with aluminum foil, and place the coals on top as soon as they are burning well. The first draw comes quickly: the short 23 cm distance between bowl and water ensures quick heating.

Wait until the coal is fully glowing, gray on all sides, before you start. With half-burnt coals, you will get a bitter taste. A good shisha charcoal burner makes that easier.

Maintenance and cleaning

After each session, rinse the vase and stem with warm water. Let the hose dry before you store it in the bag. Occasionally use a straw brush for the inside of the stem. These can be found with the cleaning supplies for hookahs. Stainless steel and aluminum do not pick up flavors if you rinse them well.

The right coals for a compact shisha

For a small 23 cm hookah, 1 or 2 coals work better than 3. More coals give too much heat, causing the tobacco to burn instead of smolder. Good shisha hookah coals are hookah natural coals: these burn more evenly and give a purer taste than quick-lighting cubes.
